The Nilo Alloys Bar and Rods, Iron, and Cobalt alloy is an excellent thermal expansion alloy. This composition is a nickel-based alloy of 29%, cobalt-based alloy of 17%, iron-based alloy of 53%, with trace compositions of Manganese, Silicon, and Carbon. It is primarily manufactured to have a low expansion over a wide range of temperatures to be used as components in aerospace applications and other precision instruments. The mechanical properties include a tensile strength of approximately 80,000 psi, yield strength of 30,000 psi, and good corrosion resistance. They also exhibit excellent stability in high-temperature environments.
