The contents of SmO 254 include 20-22% chromium, 18-20% nickel, 6-7% molybdenum, 0.18% nitrogen, and 1.5% copper with traces of manganese, silicon, and carbon. Because of the rare alloy, it poses higher strength with resistance to pitting, crevice, and stress corrosion. Other mechanical properties include tensile strength—about 650 MPa, yield strength—around 300 MPa, and an elongation of 40%. It can be used in applications where serious environments are involved.
