Stainless Steel 1.4122 hex bar is a martensitic stainless steel that provides excellent mechanical properties in applications where strength and wear resistance are the most important factors. The typical composition includes 0.37-0.45% carbon (C), 12.00-14.00% chromium (Cr), 0.90-1.30% molybdenum (Mo), 0.50% manganese (Mn), 0.03% phosphorus (P), and 0.015% sulfur (S). It contains traces of silicon (Si) and nickel (Ni). The alloy tensile strength is about 700-1000 MPa, with hardness between 35 to 50 HRC. The alloy is thus better suited to be in manufacturing of tools, shafts, and wear and corrosion agents.
